my favorite movie set

I've always secretly dreamt of being a set designer or prop master. With that said, the inspiration home of my dreams is the set of "Somethings Got to Give". I would love nothing more than to re-create this look for a client. Designed by James Radin, it's elegant but comfortable, sophisticated but beachy. It looks as though no expense was spared. The set is a beautiful mix of classic styling with some modern artistic elements. Of course the Hampton's setting isn't too shabby either. I think the setting is fitting of Diane Keaton too. I admire her classic style. She just fits with the set.

“We tried to capture the relaxed, comfortable feeling of summer at the beach,” says production designer Jon Hutman. For ease of movement, the kitchen’s islands are on casters. Counter tops are wood painted to resemble soapstone. Wolf range and hood. Waterworks fixture; Kohler sink.

The light-washed living room of the Hollywood set of Something’s Gotta Give, a romantic comedy that takes place at a Hampton's beach house. Clarence House fabric on ottoman. Mimi London chair fabric. Morten Monberg clock. The Rug Loft dhurrie.

All I can say about this one is wow. This pool and patio encompass all that is relaxing. When I think of the Hampton's this is what comes to mind.........Well this and me in a cute little Lilly Pulitzer outfit with a fruity cocktail in my hand!

It's amazing they are so perfect, they match the interiors. Do you think that is on purpose?

Making Your Home A Stress Free Zone

There is no greater pleasure than to love the way you live. A home should be a reflection of your lifestyle and tell a story of the people who live there over the years. As our lives evolve, so should our interiors. Think of reworking your interiors as you would of getting a new haircut, freshening up your wardrobe, or changing up your workout routine, redecorating is about making a change. Even the smallest update or reorganization can rejuvinate and renew your outlook. Why shouldn't it be a pleasure to walk through the front door each evening--home to house filled with meaning and memories. In these uncertain financial times, having your home be your sanctuary and a place where you can destress is a top priority. The idea of living well has always been important to me. It's the best investment you can make in your well-being. Your home is where you live, not just physically but spiritually and emotionally as well.

Inspiration Friday

My Friday blog will celebrate inspiration. All great design starts with inspiration. With the weather warming up I have sunny, warm beach days on my mind. This bedroom reflects the beautiful tropical colors of the inspiration painting. Just for fun. Enjoy!
